Apna Jobs - Jobs Platform

SUMMARY

ApnaJobs is a platform for Blue-collar jobs mostly like cab drivers, electricians, plumber, office boy, etc. They were looking for something out of the box from this application design.

They didn't want to make another typical job platform. Here users can find jobs, make their creative resumes in a few steps and also connect with other connections

My colleague and I were working on this project. They wanted this application for their first release. They already had wireframes ready so this was just visual design work in the first phase.

There are already too many platforms for white-collar jobs like Naukri.com, Indeed, and few more. There are not much for Blue-collar jobs.

Apnajobs came to us with a requirement for UI Design. They wanted to make a new job platform for the Indian audience who are already used to modern apps like Tiktok, Facebook, and WhatsApp. They were very much inspired by Indian culture, Bollywood styles, and colors of India. They wanted to depict those things inside the application.

There was an Employer dashboard also where Employers can post their jobs and manage all the applications.

Problem Statement

Target User

The target users for this application are people who are looking for a job or change in a job as a Driver, Cook, Electrician, Plumber, etc. Those are the people who are already aware of applications on the Internet. Since they use applications like Tiktok, Facebook, Whatsapp.

Moodboard

We started exploring some inspiration on the internet to create a mood board. We also found some keywords related to the product. From mood boarding, we just wanted to know what the client is looking for exactly. What they like, what they don't like. Because sometimes they also don't have any clear idea about that. If they see it they can have a clear picture of it. Here are some of the shots from it.

Early Explorations

After understanding what the client is looking for from the mood board. We started exploring some of the visuals for the Jobs feed and Profile section.

After some explorations of visuals. We got the idea about what kind of styling client is looking for. So I started exploring some colors and icons styles since we were working from scratch.

Visual Styling

Wireframes

Our wireframes, meticulously designed blueprints for the website, serve as the foundation for a seamless user experience.

These wireframes were shaped by the feedback and insights gathered during the user interviews, ensuring that every element caters to the specific needs of individuals navigating legal processes.

There were 3 main sections in this application for this phase. There will be job feed, network, and website.

They had 3 main offerings right now. First easy profile creation, Job feed, and network. So this is just an overview of all 3 features with real elements.

They call this section Apnawebsite where users can create their profile(Resume) easily in few steps. This is not a typical boring looking profile. Users can also share their profiles via WhatsApp. Also, the user can change their background via one tap. Apnajobs is using Remove.bg API to remove the background from pictures.

From job feed, users can see relevant jobs based on their location. Also, they can apply some filters to find a more relevant job. There is an option to post a job in their circle if a user is working in a company that has an opening.

From the network, you can check where your friends are doing a job, Who viewed your profile and people who are doing similar jobs as you at your location. There is a search as well from where you can search for a particular person. Also, you can invite anyone from your contacts to Apnajobs.
